Senior Management and Executive Team

Our management and executive team provide support and direction to ensure that all our business operates smoothly, efficiently and effectively, and most importantly, the Giltrap way – keeping our vision, values and mission at the top of mind. It’s their job to keep their finger on the pulse of the business and work with our dealer general managers and department managers to provide our staff with the tools, facilities and strategy to help reach our business objectives, and ensure that our customer relationships are actively maintained and nurtured. Giltrap Group Dealership General Managers

Our Dealer Principals or Dealer General Managers are individuals charged with overall leadership and management of our dealers - some of which are multi-franchise. It is their role to keep track of dealership; understanding service, sales and customer service, to marketing, accounting and human resources, and leading each department to consistently achieve positive results. Often seen on the sales forecourt, our Dealer Principals are ultimately focused on customer service, creating the best experience possible and fostering long-term relationships.

Giltrap Group Holdings

Giltrap Group Holdings is the umbrella company encompassing our head office operations, retail dealerships, and subsidiary companies European Motor Distributors and European Financial Services.

With over 40 years knowledge and award-wining experience within the industry, the Giltrap Group now extends its retail operations across 16 brands in the sport, luxury, passenger and commercial markets, spanned across 11 dealerships based in Grey Lynn, Newmarket and Wairau Valley. An extension of the Group also includes the national distributorship of McLaren, Aston Martin, Bentley and Lamborghini, while European Motor Distributors, an additional extension, act as national distributors for Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche and Skoda.

As you will see in the History section of this website, Sir Colin Giltrap originally started with one dealership in Matamata, and today the Giltrap Group is the largest automotive retail group in New Zealand, now with over 500 staff. The company is proud of the history, kiwi roots, and the core values in which we represent. Being a family owned business, we as a company and individually deliver a “hands on” personal service. This personal service begins with being approachable, relatable, passionate and understanding - a key aspect of our company culture. It doesn’t stop there though, with a commitment to the strong internal Vision and Values, all of our staff aim to delight every customer they come into contact with – this includes every department of every company within the Group - outlining an extra effort from grooming, to sales, and to service- thrilling our customers with the very best service.

European Motor Distributors

EMD are the import agents and hold the national distribution rights for Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche and Skoda. As a collective of national brands, they cover everything to ensure these European marques are brought into a New Zealand context, but also engage and align with the people; communicating their point of difference. This encompasses everything from product planning and pricing to sales, service, parts and marketing. It is also the role of each national brand to support and lead their national dealer network in each area of the business.

European Financial Services

In 2004 the company initially started out as a joint venture between the Giltrap Group and Volkswagen Financial Services AG (Germany). In late 2007 the Group took over as major shareholders in the business and added it to Group portfolio as a subsidiary called European Financial Services. This company is one of the key parts of the Group with a role to support the financing of vehicles sold by both the EMD dealer network and Giltrap Group dealerships. Essentially, our financial services operation helps our customers buy the vehicles they love and aspire to have.

Motorcorp Distributors Limited

Motorcorp Distributors Ltd (MDL) is the authorized national importer and distributor forJaguar and Land Rover in New Zealand. Covering eight Jaguar and Land Rover retail dealerships across the country, these luxury British marques are at the forefront of automobile technology and performance. MDL is committed to ensuring all Jaguar and Land Rover customers receive a personalised and special customer experience - when purchasing a brand new or approved pre-owned vehicle, during vehicle servicing, or attending one of their many highly regarded drive events across the country.
