Porsche Unveils New Cayenne Medical Car for V8 Supercars Pukekohe Round
Porsche Motorsport: Inside and Out
The 2013 Cayenne Medical Car: A moving illustration of Porsche motorsport achievement.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic 911 sports car – the model that has given Porsche more race victories around the world than any other in its deep and proud motorsport history.
In celebration, the Porsche Cayenne Medical Car for the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship rounds in both Australia & New Zealand has been draped in emotive tributes to Porsche’s glorious motorsport era of the 1960s and 1970s.
Heritage posters of victory in the snow and slush of the Rallye Monte Carlo to triumph on the twists and turns of Targa Florio to outright speed and reliability in the Daytona 24 Hour endurance race skin the sporty Porsche SUV.
“As this year celebrates fifty years of the sports car legend that is the 911, there will be a number of celebrations globally throughout the year to mark the occasion. The skinning of the Cayenne Medical Car for the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship is certainly a creative way of paying tribute to the 911 icon”, says Greg Clarke, General Manager of Porsche New Zealand.
The eye-catching Cayenne replaces the Porsche Panamera previously tasked with Medical Car responsibilities in last year’s V8 Supercars event in Hamilton. The Cayenne will transport the Chief Medical Officer, medical staff and medical equipment as the first response vehicle to serious on-track incidents.
Porsche’s latest Medical Car will make its New Zealand debut at the ITM 400 round of the 2013 V8 Supercars Championship to be held at the Pukekohe Park Raceway from the 12th to the 14th of April.
