NZ Pricing for European Car of the Year revealec
Holden New Zealand has released pricing of the European Car of the Year, the all-new Astra, ahead of it going on-sale locally in the first quarter of 2017.
“There is a groundswell of anticipation building ahead of the launch of this new model, especially considering it comes with such an impressive pedigree,” said the Managing Director of Holden New Zealand, Kristian Aquilina.
“The Astra beat premium models such as BMW 7 Series and Audi A4 to become the European Car of the Year 2016, so we’re extremely excited to announce the new model will be available from a very attainable $30,990.
“At this level, the only thing not premium about the new Astra is the price.”
The all-new Astra will be available at Holden dealerships around the country in February, with 1.6L automatic transmission models to follow one month later.
The sporty new European designed and engineered Astra R is available with a 1.4L Turbo petrol engine, offering 110kW of power, while the performance enhanced Astra RS and RS-V, both featuring the larger 1.6L Turbo petrol engine, are capable of delivering 147kW of power and 300Nm of torque.
The new Astra comes standard with the latest generation MyLink infotainment system featuring class-leading Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across the range. The R and RS models include a 7” colour touch screen with Bluetooth and voice recognition functionality via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the RS-V adds embedded Satellite Navigation system and voice recognition together with a larger 8” colour touch screen.
European inspired style and sophistication abound throughout the interior, while a striking exterior design hints at its performance intent. The availability of Advanced Active Safety featuring Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Alert complete the all-round package.
“We anticipate the new Holden Astra will have huge appeal thanks to a number of factors such as an impressive suite of technology enhancements, a spacious interior, dynamic aesthetics as well as performance credentials which will provide for an engaging driving experience,” said Mr Aquilina.
“The new model represents an outstanding value proposition and we have high expectations it will attract many new people to the Holden brand as it demonstrates our commitment to source the very best cars from GM’s new vehicle portfolio.”
