The Geneva Motor Show has debuted a number of new cars and concepts from our brands, some of our favorites include...

Aston Martin 003 Concept

Aston Martin has turned up the pressure on rivals Ferrari and McLaren with the unveiling of the 003 concept. Only 500 examples of the 003 will be produced, all of which will be road legal, with first examples of the hypercar due to be delivered at the end of 2021.

Aston Martin Vanquish Concept

The new Aston Martin Vanquish Vision concept is perhaps one of the most ambitious and exciting cars ever to emerge from the British brand. The Vanquish Vision concept is Aston’s first series production mid-engine car that will compete directly with the Ferrari F8 Tributo and McLaren 720S. Aston is keeping a lot of technical information quiet for now but the British marque has announced that the car will be based on a bonded aluminum structure, as opposed to the carbon tub used by the Valkyrie, and will be powered by an all-new twin-turbo V6 engine.

Audi Q4 e-tron

Audi has revealed what will become the fifth electric vehicle in a 12-strong EV line-up by 2025: the Q4 e-tron concept. It’s another electric SUV, and by the time the production version of the new concept car emerges at the end of 2020. Under the skin of the Q4 e-tron concept, the MEB platform houses a battery pack 82kWh in size. It sits under the passenger compartment of the vehicle and between the axles, weighing 510kg. It sends its charge to two electric motors – one driving the front axle, the other the rear. Total system output is rated at 302bhp and 460Nm torque, while Audi claims a 0-62mph time of 6.3 seconds.

Audi etron GT

The Audi e-tron GT concept showcar is a highly dynamic coupé with a low floor, the technology in this automobile was developed in collaboration with Porsche; With classic Gran Turismo proportions, its character is full of umistakable Audi DNA, boasting 590 horsepower and quattro all-wheel drive to ensure true sports car performance.

Bentley Continental GT No.9 Edition

The limited edition Continental GT No.9 celebrates Bentley’s 100-year anniversary. The new model pays homage to the Le Mans-winning 1930 “Blower” Bentley 4 ½ litre, featuring trim, dials, interior fixtures and paint codes inspired by the classic racer. Production will be limited to just 100 examples, and each will be hand-built in Crewe by Bentley’s coachbuilding arm, Mulliner. Prices for the Bentley Continental GT No.9 are yet to be announced.

Cupra Formentor 

The Formentor is Cupra’s first standalone model since the brand’s conception last year, however it's hardly a show-stand special. It’s very much a glimpse at a production ready model, which should hit roads in 2020. In effect, the Cupra Formentor is a coupe version of the Cupra Ateca, but it also takes some of its styling cues from the newer SEAT Tarraco flagship. The Formentor is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain producing 242bhp, which feeds its power through a dual-clutch DSG transmission. Full specifications for the drivetrain are yet to be released.

Kia Imagine Concept

Kia has revealed a new electric concept car at the Geneva Motor Show, which the Korean brand says is a ‘visual embodiment’ of its move towards electrification and could be toned down for production early next decade. The front end of the concept features a new interpretation of Kia’s ‘tiger nose’ style grille, as used on the brand’s conventional vehicles. Imagine by Kia features suicide doors lined with metallic fabric and leather. Opening them reveals a four-seat interior making full use of the space offered up by the electric powertrain. As such, an electric car inspired by the Imagine by Kia could emerge by the end of 2022.

Lagonda All-Terrain Concept

Aston Martin has revealed the new Lagonda All-Terrain concept, which will morph into the reformed brand’s first production model in 2022. The All-Terrain Concept is a four-seater in which the front occupants will be able to turn around and chat to those in the back when the vehicle is running in autonomous mode. The new model has clear elements of the Vision Concept, but Aston says the SUV takes some design cues from superyachts. The cabin uses luxury materials like cashmere and does away with conventional air vents and speaker grilles. It celebrates the starter key, however; the circular item floats when placed in its position, hovering above an electromagnet that’s integrated into the dramatic centre console. 

Lamborghini SVJ Roadster

The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ drop-top has been revealed at Geneva, powered by a 759bhp naturally-aspirated V12. Rather than an electrically-folding roof Lamborghini has opted to fit a quick-release carbon fibre roof panel that can be stored under the Aventador’s bonnet. Lamborghini claims the open-top Aventador’s structural rigidity remains uncompromised over the coupe but it does weigh an additional 50kg. Power is fed through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to an all-wheel-drive system, allowing a claimed 0–62mph time of 2.9 seconds, a 0–124mph time of 8.8 seconds and a top speed of 217mph. 

Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder

Lamborghini’s latest drop-top supercar has arrived, with the Huracan Evo Spyder putting 632bhp behind the driver. The convertible supercar has made its full introduction at the Geneva Motor Show. It is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10, developing 600Nm of torque – exactly the same as the coupe.  Lamborghini claims 0-62mph in 3.1 seconds – just 0.2 seconds slower than the fixed roof version of the supercar, while top speed is clocked at 202mph.

Polestar 2

Volvo’s performance spin-off brand, Polestar, has unveiled its Tesla Model 3 rival at the Geneva Motor Show, called the Polestar 2. It is a five-door fastback saloon built on Volvo’s new all-electric CMA platform. Powered by two electric motors, it produces a combined output of 396bhp and 660Nm of torque, which results in a 0–62mph sprint of less than five seconds. The motors are paired with a 78kWh battery pack, with Polestar targeting an all-electric range of around 310 miles.

SEAT el-Born

The all-electric SEAT el-Born concept, which boasts a 62kWh battery and has a range of 261 miles, has been revealed at Geneva. SEAT’s star of the show, the el-Born is the sister vehicle to the Volkswagen ID. hatchback, codenamed Neo, which is due to make its debut in production form later this year. It shares that car’s MEB chassis architecture, will be produced at the same plant in Zwickau, Germany. The el-Born’s profile is pretty similar to that of the ID. hatchback too. It has a short bonnet, a flush front grille incorporating some neat triangular patterns and a blacked-out C-pillar designed to make the roof appear as if it’s floating. 

Skoda Kamiq

Skoda is one of the last mainstream brands to enter the hugely competitive and popular compact SUV sector, but the brand has finally arrived with this, the new Skoda Kamiq. The Kamiq’s shape takes inspiration from both the rest of Skoda’s SUV family and the recently revealed Scala hatchback. There are few surprises under the new car’s bonnet; every model will be front-wheel drive, and all four engine options are known quantities. The single diesel is a 1.6-litre TDI producing 113bhp and 250Nm of torque, while petrol buyers can choose from 1.0 engines making either 94bhp or 113bhp, or a 1.5 turbo. With no sporty vRS version in the pipeline, this 148bhp unit will be the most powerful option available.

Skoda Vision iV

Skoda’s Vision iV coupe-SUV concept is a close to production glimpse at an upcoming MEB car for the Czech brand. The Vision iV concept is driven by two electric motors, one powering the front axle and one the rear, which combine to produce a total output of 302bhp. Skoda claims a 0–62mph time of 5.9 seconds, a 50–75mph time of less than four seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 112mph. The motors are powered by a liquid-cooled 82kWh lithium-ion battery, mounted between the vehicle’s axles. Skoda says the battery pack offers up to 310 miles of range under the WLTP testing regime and can be charged to 80 per cent capacity in 30 minutes.

Volkswagen T-Roc

Hot new VW T-Roc R is the second model from the brand’s performance division after the Golf R and has been officially revealed at Geneva. It joins a rapidly-expanding class of compact performance SUVs, all from the VW Group stable, with the Audi SQ2 and Cupra Ateca its direct rivals. Under the skin it’s powered by the firm’s proven 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo, developing 296bhp and 400Nm of torque. This is paired to a seven-speed DSG box and 4MOTION all-wheel drive as standard. Volkswagen claims a 0-62mph time of 4.9 seconds, thanks to the addition of launch control, and a top speed limited to 155mph.

Volkswagen Passat

Restricted to just 2,000 units, the Volkswagen Passat R-Line Estate gets a range of sporty styling tweaks. Buyers will be able to choose from either a 233bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel or a 264bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Both powertrains are mated to a seven-speed DSG transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. The most significant technology update for the Passat R-Line is the addition of Volkswagen’s new Travel Assist system. This semi-autonomous driving mode allows the car to assume control of its own steering, brakes, and throttle at speeds up to 130mph, providing the driver’s hands are on the wheel.

Bugatti La Voiture Noire

The one-off special edition Bugatti La Voiture Noire celebrates the brand’s history, drawing inspiration from the 1936 Type 57 SC Atlantic. La Voiture Noire has already been sold to a Bugatti enthusiast for €11 million (around £9.5 million), claiming the title of the world’s most expensive new car. The special edition hypercar features a hand-crafted carbon fibre body which, according to Bugatti, borrows the Type 57’s elongated nose and distinctive C-pillars. However, unlike the iconic classic, the new one-off car remains mid-engined. Official performance figures are yet to be announced for La Voiture Noire. However, Bugatti has confirmed that its top speed will be lower and its 0–62mph time slower than the Chiron’s, due to the car’s revised gearing. The trade-off, Bugatti says, is superior in-gear acceleration and better passing power, making it easier to drive long distances.

Koenigsegg Jesko 

The Swedish supercar manufacturer revealed its latest model at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, with a claimed maximum output of 1,578bhp. The Koenigsegg Jesko is powered by a twin-turbo 5.0-litre V8 engine capable of running on either conventional petrol or E85 ethanol fuel, with the latter fuel providing a considerable bump in power. Power figures stand at 1,262bhp and 1,578bhp for the two fuels respectively, with torque numbers peaking at 1,500Nm. Full performance specifications and pricing information for the Koenigsegg Jesko are yet to be announced.
