Archibald and Shorter Customer Drive Day 2016
On the 15th May 2016 we held our Annual Customer Drive Day out at Woodhill forest. Once again a fantastic response and turn out by our clients. With 200 people and 50 new Land Rover’s attending the event, we knew there were going to be a lot of nerves, squeals, adrenaline rushes, laughter, and a whole journey of emotions throughout the day.
On the 15th May 2016 we held our Annual Customer Drive Day out at Woodhill forest. With two and a half thousand acres of tracks, we decided to stick with the three specially selected and built tracks for our day. Once again a fantastic response and turn out by our clients. With 200 people and 50 new Land Rover’s attending the event, we knew there were going to be a lot of nerves, squeals, adrenaline rushes, laughter, and a whole journey of emotions throughout the day.
With the help of our knowledgeable team of staff and instructors, we are happy to report that everyone left with a big smile on their faces, the vehicles were covered in mud and sand from roof to chassis, which just shows how much fun the day was.
The day included competitions for the drivers and children. The winners of the Best Male and Best Female drivers were: Tom Koene and Emily Jones, along with their partners they both enjoyed a helicopter flight from the forest to Waiheke Island for brunch at Stonyridge and dropped off to mechanics bay, where their vehicle (children) awaited their return.
The drive day enables our clients to experience the true capabilities of their Land Rover’s in a safe and controlled environment. One particular track brings out the inner child out of us all, and you’ll see what I mean by our photos and footage. Customers develop their driving skills with expert tuition and gain a greater understanding of vehicle control, obstacle handling and how to assess different environment including steep inclines, descents and water entry and access.
Here’s some of the feedback from the day which shows how fantastic the day was:
Thanks for Sunday, good time indeed-Bob Weston
Thanks to you and all the team at Archibald and Shorter for organising a really enjoyable day on Sunday. We had a great time. – James and Eileen
It was my first time off roading, the whole day was so much fun, and even my wife enjoyed it. The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was great everyone was friendly and happy, and staff was so helpful. Thanks again Mason and Archibald & Shorter Team for the wonderful experience, I would love to come back next year. - Reuben Tang
A quick note to say a big thank you for the 4x4 day yesterday. We had a fantastic day, thoroughly enjoying all the experiences including the beautiful lunch, superb hospitality and the way you entertained the kids. A&S’s attention to detail in organising the event was amazing - a real credit to those involved. I can’t talk highly enough about all the A&S staff, particularly Mason who did an outstanding job. We look forward to coming next year! - Bastiaan Struijck
Many thanks to you and Mason and the team for an awesome day. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and particularly finding out what our Defender could do off road. – Ed Crook
Hi Lee, Steven, Mason, Natasha and everyone else that helped make Sundays Family Day really great! We had a great time on Sunday and really enjoyed the whole day. It was the first time we’d had the Defender off road and really enjoyed the adventure and advice on what to do. Thanks also for the surprise Helicopter ride to Waiheke and Dinner at Stoney Ridge! That was awesome!! Thanks Steve for having the difficult job of looking after Isabel and Felicity, while we were enjoying ourselves on Waiheke Island!! Will definitely been keen to go to next year’s event. - Emily, Stephen, Isabel & Felicity
The atmosphere is amazing, especially when you realise most of the participating landrover owners don’t know each other. It's like a club day, lots of chatter, laughter, great food, fun stuff for the kids and most important....... great organisation and leadership. I think Tom and I have joint Landrover/you for this day about 5 times.....so it must be good! Even the weather never lets us down. So, thanks again for another great day which turned into a super day for us with the helicopter ride and Waiheke lunch. It was great to meet Lee Small. - Tom and Ingrid Koene

Congratulations to this to Bethel’s Beach Surf Life Saving Patrol team. This year’s worthy community recipients. A total of $1250.00 was donated by all thoughs who attended the day. If you’re ever at Bethells beach, please make yourself known to Terry, Dylan and the team. Fantastic work guys!
We would like to thank some very important companies and individuals, who were kind enough to support our annual event again, and also get to experience Land Rover in its full form:
Motor Corp Distributors, Eurotech Auto Repairs (Trevor, Louise, Marino and Emilda), Precision Autowerks (Paul Gibson, Brett Sommerville) and Castrol Oil (Russell Miller)
Finally to all our staff who made this day another great success, thank you all for your efforts. Until next time.
