Skoda Kodiaq RS
Online Reservation First
Skoda has announced the official recommended retail price for the high-performance Kodiaq RS in New Zealand will be $71,990 plus on road costs.
In New Zealand, the Kodiaq RS is the first Skoda to be launched using an online reservation. The first units available have just been released for RS fans who want to be in pole position for customer deliveries.
Customers can reserve at www.skodafinance.co.nz/skodadeposit/ by placing a $300 refundable holding deposit.
It is the first Skoda SUV to wear the high-performance RS badge.
The Kodiaq RS is powered by a 176kW 2-litre Bi- turbodiesel engine, and is differentiated by black accents and 20-inch alloy wheels.
It offers many features not previously seen on Skoda models before, such as the 17-inch brake discs front and rear, that wear RS specific large twin-piston callipers in red.
The rear of the SUV is shaped by two visible tailpipes below the bumper and a reflector that extends across the entire width of the car – the distinguishing feature of all Skoda RS models. It will be the first Skoda SUV to be offered with Race Blue metallic paint.
Skoda engineers developed specific suspension and drivetrain settings for the new Kodiaq RS. It is the first Skoda model to be equipped with progressive steering giving the Kodiaq RS better handling and agility in curves. Paired with the dynamic chassis control the Kodiaq RS offers several modes that change both the stiffness of the shock absorbers and other vehicle settings.
The Kodiaq RS is also the first Skoda available with a full digital instrument panel, heated sports steering wheel, and dynamic sound boost. The 10.25” display screen gives drivers the option to customise the panel with 5 different display layouts.
It is equipped with area view cameras for enhanced situational awareness, as well as park assist, lane assist and autonomous emergency braking.
The Kodiaq RS is already a record setter on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife track. Racing driver Sabine Schmitz clocked the Kodiaq RS around the circuit in 9 minutes, 29 seconds and 84 hundredths of a second. It’s the fastest seven-seater SUV to complete the Nordschleife.
