Holden Pledges Cash To Kaikoura Thanks To Fox Birdie Effort At World Cup Of Golf

The World Cup of Golf finished in Melbourne yesterday and thanks to the effort of Kiwi professional Ryan Fox and his playing partner Danny Lee, the people of earthquake stricken Kaikoura are better off to the tune of $11,000.

The Kiwi duo promised to pay $500 for every birdie they shot at the event and Holden New Zealand decided to match the contribution of not only their Brand Ambassador Ryan but Danny as well, so have pledged $11,000 - effectively doubling the amount which will donated to the relief fund.

“We were really proud when Ryan announced his ‘cash for birdie’ initiative and we didn’t think twice about stepping up and getting on board with his campaign,” said the Managing Director of Holden New Zealand, Kristian Aquilina.

“It’s a small way for us to show people affected by the quake that there are companies out there who really care and are doing something to assist.”

Holden New Zealand has also offered vehicle support to agencies associated with supporting the quake relief.

“We’re prepared to supply Holden Colorado vehicles to help with efforts and are in the process of getting these to organisations who have asked for support,” said Mr Aquilina.

“Holden is a brand synonymous with New Zealanders and these measures show we support Kiwis through good times as well as bad.”
